Setting up the New NetExtender VPN Client
Downloading and Installing the NetExtender Client
Use the following link to download the NetExtender Client for Windows:

- Once you open the link, you should see the download button:
- Click on the Download button, then click on Save. (if prompted)
- Once the program is downloaded, click on the program in the lower left corner of your browser window:
- (if you do not see this in your browser window, press ctrl-j on your keyboard to open your download folders.)
- If the User Account Control dialog box opens, click “Yes” to allow this app to make changes to your device.
- You should then see the SonicWall NetExtender Setup dialog:
- Click “Next” to begin the install.
- Click the radio button to ‘accept the terms of the License Agreement.’
- Click “Next” on the ‘Choose Install Location’ Dialog.
- Then, click “Install” on the ‘Shortcuts’ Dialog.
- Click “Finish” to complete the install:
Configuring the NetExtender Client
Once the client is installed, the NetExtender program will start and you will be asked to configure a connection. If the program does not start up, you should be able to find an icon on your desktop:
or in your program listing on the start menu:
- Enter the following information into the appropriate fields:

- Server: securenet.deflecto.com:4433
- Username: Your network username.
- Password: Your current network password. (The same as you use to log on to your computer.)
- Domain: deflecto
- Click the “Connect” button. This will save the properties for this connection.
- You may not be able to connect at this time, if you are within the deflecto network (or at one our our offices.) Click on the “Close” button to end the NetExtender dialog. The network settings will be saved.
- If you are able to connect, then you can close the connection and the settings will be saved.
- The NetExtender client will remain active in your System tray:

- If you wish to close the NetExtender Client, right click on the icon and choose “Exit.”
- The setup is complete. You should be able to create a VPN connection to the Deflecto network now.
